WJCU Programming Alert - Basement Show temporarily cut to one hour.
WJCU broadcasts of Blue Streaks basketball will temporarily reduce the Basement Show down to one hour, with the exception of the Radiothon shows. This change will start on January 23. The regular WJCU Saturday schedule will resume on March 6, subject to change.
Jumpin' Joe's Basement Show will temporarily air for one hour from 5-6pm on WJCU.
WJCU Radio is located on the campus of John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio and broadcasts Blue Streaks football in the fall and basketball in the spring. However, because most colleges only held online classes in the fall semester, both football and basketball will take place during the spring semester. Football games air on Friday nights at 6pm and basketball on Saturdays at 6pm.
All of this is subject to change depending on playoffs and/or COVID-19.
The effects of 2020 have carried over into 2021. During a normal year, most basketball games are played in the early afternoon and have no effect on the broadcast of Jumpin' Joe's Basement Show.
Here is the broadcast schedule for the basement show on WJCU from now until March 06:
January 23 - One Hour Regular Show
January 30 - One Hour Show - All Canadian bands
February 06 - One Hour Show - All Cleveland bands
February 13* - Two Hour Radiothon show - Countdown of the WIXY-SIXY Survey from 2/13/1967.
February 20* - Two Hour Radiothon Show - Will we reach our show's Radiothon goal this year?
February 27 - One Hour Regular Show
March 06** - One Hour Regular Show
* Radiothon shows will air live from the WJCU studios. Affiliates will air previously aired shows.
**Subject to change in the event of playoffs.
Regular schedule could resume as early as March 06.
For all other stations that air Jumpin' Joe's Basement Show, the show will be a full two hours. The second hour will be a replay of various segments from previous shows.
