50 songs on the WHK Tunedex and...what's this? No Beatles? How can that be?

This is the first WHK Tunedex featured in this series of Cleveland radio surveys, and it's from July 04, 1964!
Topping the Tunedex is The Beach Boys with "I Get Around" and "Don't Worry Baby."
Coming in at #2 is a Beatles song, but performed by Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas.
The flip also charted, "Little Children."

Clevelanders were keeping it cool in 1964 with the bossa nova sounds of Getz & Gilberto and their classic "The Girl from Ipanema." The album with the same title is the #2 album on WHK's Top 10 Albums.
Topping the WHK Top 10 Albums is "Beatles Sound Track." The title that should have been listed is "Help."
An all-girl Cleveland group called the Secrets hit #18 on the Tunedex with "Here He Comes Now." A great up-tempo record that somehow didn't chart nationally. It's a hit down in the basement!
Their claim-to-fame is their national hit on Phillips, "The Boy Next Door."
The British were invading the Tunedex with hits from the Dave Clark Five, Billy J. Kramer, The Searchers, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Hollies and Rolling Stones. What about The Beatles? This is one of those rare 1964 surveys that doesn't feature any song by The Beatles.
Happy Independence Day 2021... and 1964!
